Yours Is the Earth is a personal confrontation of mortality, death anxiety, masculinity and intimacy. It is a collection of black and white, square format photographs without caption or context — the full sequence of images is bisected by a seemingly unrelated short story about a father grieving the unexpected loss of his son in the company of the late young man's widow, whom he never liked nor understood.

Sören Kierkegaard wrote, “What if the world was a misunderstanding? What if laughter were really tears?” Each photograph in this series might be interpreted as a misunderstanding, as a response to the absurd, which I believe more often lies not in the extraordinary, but in the banal.
